Alternative Radio, a weekly one hour public affairs program, has been added to the lineup at WVAS-FM 90.7, the voice of Alabama State University.

“The program focuses on information, analyses and views that are not discussed as frequently and consistently in the corporate media arena,” said Jay Holcey, program director at WVAS. “WVAS will be the first radio station in the state of Alabama to air this program.”

The program, which is hosted by award-winning journalist David Barsamian, can be heard on Monday evenings, beginning Feb. 3 at 6 p.m. The Rev. William Barber, a political activist and member of the national board of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), will be the featured guest on the debut.
